This modern world

I hate this modern world sometimes.

Maybe it was just Karma as a result of me thinking I was getting one over on the world, but I only just got back from work when i left early and expected to get back before 5.
I decided because of the snow I will not be waiting for the 4:27 bus to uni, I was going to get the 3:57. So I asked my manager to leave 6 mins early so I could make the bus; granted.
I got the bus and life seemed amazing, I was warm listening to my pod of I, and nothing could go wrong right?
Well.

The bus gets to town center and usually they get everyone off for 2 mins whilst they check the upper deck for people who have city tickets and are skiving to get up to the uni for free. This guy had a “10 minute lunch break” or something of similar description. Grr at 10 mins in the cold. Grr at then getting on the bus and waiting a further 10 minutes whilst the bus’ computer reboots. The bus’ computer? Surely its a ticket machine, and it shouldn’t need rebooting? OH WELL.

Just my luck I thought; the train level crossing is down… 5 mins to wait… OH NO, 25 minutes, because the train was “stuck” on the crossing. Stuck. How does a train get suck on rails? Snow? Yeah they would like you to believe snow has an amazingly adverse affect on trains. This was exciting though, because the bus driver went rouge and started doing 34-point-turns to take a new route. Well, again, I say new route. I mean a circle to join the back of the queue at the level crossing.

Never the less, I made it back unfrozen and I am just happy to be warm,

The modern world of failing trains and buses 1 – 0 Dave.

Here’s some modern toss to make you smile to do with the weather, [kinda].
